This scenic beauty is located on the Indochinese Peninsula between Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and China. Laos will surely give you a “back in time” feel while you visit some of the famous Buddhist temples and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Luang Prabang. Some of the scenic places to visit here are:

Kuang Si Waterfalls:

This amazing looking waterfall is a wonderful getaway in the jungle’s cacophony. The turquoise pond is located 20 Km away from the Luang Prabang and has numerous pools where water collects before falling 60m down. The enchanting waterfall sound flows through the rocks creating deep lines and a beautiful travertine pattern. The pools at the bottom are wide enough, which can urge people to swim in and shed away their tropical heat.

This little piece of heaven is a bit tricky to reach as it is located a bit far from the local sites and one may require a driver or a rental service to reach there.

Kong Lor Cave:

Are you ready for some mystical canoeing adventure? If yes, then you should also focus on the South of Laos during your Cambodia and Laos tour. The place is a geological wonder and is also known as Tham Kong Lor. The river Phu Hin Bun flows through the caves which you can explore by taking a canoe ride. The unusual rock formations are of the Karst limestone, and the emerald-tinted green pool of water is believed to be sacred and connected with the Hindu God, Indra, by the locals. During the harvest period, even tobacco is grown in that area.

Luang Prabang:

Luang Prabang serves a multitude of adventures and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in northern Laos. The place is full of royal palaces, more than about 30 temples, and some natural scenic beauty. The night street that runs along Sisavangvong road to the town center is a must-visit travel destination. The market opens up after the sunset and the local-tribe set up their stalls on the roadside. And yes, the good thing is, you can bargain but just be gentle while you talk to them.

Buddha Park:

Also known as Xieng Khuan, Buddha park is located 25 Km away from the capital Vientiane. This park has more than 200 statues of Lord Buddha, humans and other Hindu deities. An interesting thing about this place is, it also features some demon statues and was built long back in 1958 by Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat. The monk studied Buddhism and Hinduism and was inspired to carve out statues from stones. The major highlight of this park is the reclining Buddha statue, 40 m long and three-headed elephant statue. This place also holds a surreal extravaganza giant pumpkin head inside which you can ascend and enter the heaven. Buddha Park is a must-visit place for tourists.

Plain of Jars:

Plain of Jars remains a mystery and is the most distinctive place to visit in Laos. The place has many megalithic jars spread throughout Xieng Khouang Province. The jars are 500 BC old that is almost of the iron age. The 2 major jars that are the larget King jar is located at site 1, and the longest one is at Site 2. It is advisable to hire a guide who would guide you through the paddy sites.
